About the Department
The Department of Artificial Intelligence at G H Raisoni College of Engineering and Management, Nagpur (GHRCEMN), established in 2019, has rapidly emerged as a center of excellence in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The department offers a B.Tech. program in Artificial Intelligence with an intake capacity of 180 students and is dedicated to nurturing talented professionals equipped to meet the evolving demands of the AI industry.
The B.Tech CSE department aims at nurturing a conducive upbringing for erudition and research by the use of appropriate computing technologies in its everyday activities. Some of the areas of study are Data Structure, Algorithms, Database Systems, Operating Systems, Data Science and AI. Online MOOCs (Swayam, NPTEL, Coursera etc.) are also included in earning credits and reflected in the grade card. Record numbers of job opportunities are there in the computer science related field.
Workshops and Seminars are an integral part of our academic programs and conducted regularly. It acts as a means for students to deliberate on the subject from technical to current affairs, and even NPTEL videos are screened. As per industry need, programming skills are covered and evaluated more on a practical basis. Student-initiated clubs are intended to generate curiosity in young minds and promote intelligent designs to help solve some of the problems in our daily life. Associate Professor & Head, Department of Artificial Intelligence
Dr. Jagdish Pimple is a distinguished academician, researcher, mentor, and academic leader with over 19 years of teaching experience. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science & Engineering and has established an exemplary record of excellence in teaching, research, innovation, academic administration, and institutional development.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Blockchain Technology, Cyber Security, Federated Learning, Data Analytics, and Healthcare Informatics. Driven by a passion for innovation, Dr. Pimple actively promotes interdisciplinary research and industry-oriented solutions that address contemporary technological challenges.
Dr. Pimple has an outstanding research portfolio comprising more than 50 research publications in reputed journals and international conferences, 4 authored books, 5 Scopus-indexed book chapters, 10 patents, and 17 copyrights. His scholarly contributions have earned him several prestigious accolades, including the Best Performing Faculty Award, Best Researcher Award, Best Teacher Award, Best Paper Award at an International Conference, and recognition as a Top Mentor by NPTEL.
He has also served as a Resource Person, Session Chair, Reviewer, and Expert Speaker at numerous national and international conferences, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), workshops, and seminars.
